Tomioka Tessai | Letter
"I am so glad that the days have been mild recently. And I am very happy for your good health. Thank you for the beautiful Ikeda charcoal that you sent me the other day. Also, I am grateful for your consideration for me to bring us some duvets. As you know I hurt my lung and I stayed in bed for all winter. I had to abandon anything else than lying to cure. Therefore, I have not done your Spring landscape painting yet. The autumn one is also not yet completed. Moreover, I am so troubled to move my body at my will due to the long time I spent in bed. I will update you with my progress soon. Thank you again for your gift. 6th April, Tomioka Tessai. To Mr Hayashida Shozaburo
