Raku X Tanyu (1795-1854)
楽十代 旦入

Born the second son of Ryonyu, Tanyu succeeded as the 10th generation Kichizaemon in 1811. He was given the name Tannyu at this retirement in 1845 by Kyokosai, 10th generation Head of Omotesenke, Shoo Sosa (1818-1860). The signature of the original box (see below) dates this piece between 1811 and 1845.
