Raku VI Sanyu (1685-1739)
楽六代 左入

Born as Sokichi the second son of Yamatoya Kahei and later adopted into the Raku family as Sonyu's son-in-law. In February 1708 at the age of twenty-four, he succeeded as the 6th generation. In 1728 he went into retirement, assuming the name of Sanyu, when he took the tonsure and became a monk. The name Sanyu was given to him by Kakukakusai Sosa (1678-1730) the sixth generation Head of Omotesenke.
