Martin B. Lorber – Asian Art Newspaper, March 2011, p.37:
"As Messrs. Bachmann and Eckenstein have always specialised in the more refined branches and variations of ‘Tea taste’, this distilled exhibition of 33 pieces (19 of which are pottery wares for the Tea Ceremony) is particularly strong in 19th- and 20th-century masters of both tea wares and paintings.
The Tea pieces are mainly chawan and include works by Miyagawa Chozo, Miyagawa Toranosuke, Eiraku XII and numerous pieces of Raku, including the VI, IX, X, XI and XIII Generations as well as some early anonymous pieces.
The paintings are all of a Zen persuasion and include names that are widely known, such as Gyokudo, Kitaoji Rosanjin and Ike no Taiga and those artists known more by aficionados of Tea: Yamamoto Gempo, Gyokuran, Okuhara Seiko, Suzuki Shonen, Hine Taizan and Takada Totsuzen.
During a particularly hectic week of sales and exhibitions, this exhibition bodes well for those who could use a spell of serenity in the presence of some deeply personable objects."
